Summer Camp provides really amazing, once in a lifetime memories for our youth! The things they learn about the world, others, and mostly themselves are priceless. Recently, one CFLC kid in our Foster Family program who returned from Royal Family Kids Camp shared with us her experience, she excitedly reported, “I had the best time of my life!!! My favorite part was being in our own cabins and zip lining! YUP, I did zip lining!!” She was so proud of herself, and we are proud of her too!

One of our Foster Family boys recently graduated wrap-around services; a process where we collaboratively develop an individualized plan of care, implement this plan, and evaluate success over time. He and all of his team are celebrating his behavioral achievements of good manners and stability. Everyone is so proud that he has met all of his goals! When we asked him what he has learned over the past year, he said "I learned that I have a lot of wisdom and that I am kind." Way to go!

This week CFLC celebrated witha few of our youth who had some wonderful experiences! One young man ran for his track meet and participated in the shot put event! Meanwhile, one of our young ladies enjoyed singing in her school choir and another received an award for Honor Roll! Often times we take for granted the simple pleasures we can bring to a child’s life, positive experiences in school with a supportive family can make all the difference to a child! Congratulations!

Three young men from our youth home were invited to attend a benefit dinner at the USS Midway Museum for a teen community service project! They were so excited for the opportunity to go on an aircraft carrier and they experienced the flight simulator as well! A day they will always remember! Thanks to Motiv which identifies, amplifies and connects high school students to meaningful volunteer service in San Diego.
